No Drawing. No OEM. No Problem
The Problem
When a small brass component failed on a customer’s critical equipment, it brought production to a stop.
This machine was part of a 24/7 operation, so the downtime had an immediate impact. The customer needed to get back up and running quickly, but there was a major problem: the part was no longer available from the OEM, and no technical data package or drawings existed.
Our Approach
The customer sent us the failed component, and we reverse engineered the part directly from the sample.
From there, we identified the critical dimensions, threads, and functional features, then machined replacement parts in-house with a focus on fit, function, and turnaround time.
The Solution
Within one week of first contact, Primeline Manufacturing produced and delivered 10 replacement parts ready for installation.
By moving quickly and handling the reverse engineering and machining in-house, we were able to give the customer a fast, reliable path forward for a part they could no longer source.
The Result
The customer was able to get their equipment back into service, avoid extended downtime, and keep up with production demands. They also now had additional spare parts on hand to help prevent the same issue from creating another emergency.
What This Project Shows
When a critical part fails and there is no drawing, no OEM support, and no time to waste, we can step in, reverse engineer the component, and deliver working replacements fast.
